Matt McDole, P.E., M.ASCE
Matthew M. McDole, P.E., is Chief Engineer at the E-470 Public Highway Authority; a position he has held since 1995. In his over 40 years of experience, he has also held the top engineering management position at the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART) and the Denver Regional Transportation District (RTD). Matt started his engineering career with the Southern Pacific Railroad gaining experience in design, construction and railroad operations. He then moved to BART and was involved in the engineering and construction management of the original system. Then, after 5-year stints at RTD and a consulting firm (Kellogg Corporation) where he was a principal and manager of the Construction Services Group, he returned to BART to manage system extensions and the Engineering Department accumulating a total of over 18 years of service on the transit system. At E-470, he has managed the planning, environmental work, intergovernmental agreements, design and construction of the expansion of the toll road from 5 to 47 route miles along with maintenance and operations, facilities and other related improvements. This has been accomplished through three large design-build contracts as well as numerous, smaller, traditional construction contracts and consultant agreements.
Matt became a life member of ASCE this year and is the chairman of the National ASCE Transportation and Development Construction Committee and a member of the national ASCE Construction Institute Management Practices in Construction Committee. He is Vice President of the Colorado Section. He is also active in several other professional organizations including NSPE, DBIA, IBTTA and TRB.
Mr. McDole has a BSCE degree from the University of Arizona and is a Registered Professional Engineer in California and Colorado.
