10th International Conference on Automated People Movers (APM) a Success

T&DI held the 10th International Conference on APMs at Disney's  Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Florida in early May.  The conference sessons and tracks presented the current state-of-the-practice in APM planning, design and construction.  The conference theme reflected that driverless transportation systems are now being used in mainstream applications rather than being used only to move people within the confines of an airport.  In addition to the sessions, conference attendees were able to attend technical tours of the Disney monorail system and the APM system at Orlando International Airport.  The conference was successful in no small part due to the efforts of the co-chairs Bob Griebenow and Jack Norton along with the other members of the Steering Committee, Larry Fabian, Hal Lindsey and Ram Tadi.  Planning for the 11th Conference being held May 13-16, 2007 in Vienna, Austria has already started.
