ASCE Wants YOU to be its Next Top Recruiter
You've made the right decision starting your civil engineering career with ASCE. But what about your civil engineering friends who aren't members? ASCE's National Student-Get-A-Student Drive kicks off Sept. 1 and the prizes for participating are better than ever. The top recruiter will win $500 while 10 runner-ups receive an iPod Nano - just ask Nathaniel F. Murphy, S.M.ASCE, Hudson Valley Community College, who was last year's grand prize winner.

Younger Member News
ASCE Younger Members are your gateway to the civil engineering profession and a powerful networking community following graduation.
What is an ASCE Younger Member?
By Loreen Choate, P.E., M.ASCE
Member at Large – Committee on Younger Members
Younger Members are those ASCE members who are 35 years old and younger. Your local ASCE Branch or Section probably has an active Younger Member Group. Younger Member Groups across the country participate in social activities, community service events, and technical seminars. Getting involved with your local group while still a student will help you make contacts that could result in an internship or job after graduation.
The Younger Member Groups around the country are under the Committee on Younger Members (CYM), which is the national ASCE committee representing members age 35 and under.
Not sure if your local Branch or Section has a Younger Member Group, check out www.asce.org/inside/cym_contacts.cfm#online or find the Section and Branch nearest you at www.asce.org/inside/sec_brnch.cfm. Still not sure, feel free to contact me at asceymf@earthlink.net.
