The Architectural Engineering Institute of ASCE is pleased to announce the ASCE Charles Pankow Foundation Annual Architectural Engineering Student Competition. The theme of the competition is the design and construction management of the engineered aspects of a building project, including the structural systems, building envelope, mechanical systems and electrical systems. The competition design circumstances are picked to elicit the kinds of ingenuity, innovativeness, and originality of work approach that have characterized the Charles Pankow legacy.

The competition is open to both graduate and undergraduate students in accredited architectural engineering programs, and programs actively seeking accreditation by EAC/ABET, supervised and advised by faculty.

Submissions may be entered in one or more of the following five categories: structural system design; mechanical systems design; electrical systems design; building integration; and innovative construction management and construction methods. Teams may include from one to five participants. A team may enter in more than one category. Each program may have several teams competing.

>>Finalists Notification March 25, 2010

>>Presentation of finalists will occur at the AEI National Student Conference in mid-April 2010.
