2006 Operations Management Conference – Call for Pape
Operations Management involves continual communication between project stakeholders and those responsible for water management. In the 21st century, communications technology and better models for citizen participation promise to increase the responsiveness of water management agencies to changing stakeholder objects and better information about ecological and socioeconomic systems. Improved technologies for hydrologic forecasting and decision support, as well as greater confidence in these technologies, promise to enhance water management capabilities even further.
The 2006 Operations Management Conference, sponsored by EWRI and scheduled for August 14-16, 2006 in Sacramento, California, will provide an opportunity for operations and management (O & M) personnel of water resources projects to come together in a common forum to exchange ideas and share discussions on issues surrounding operations management. This includes current issues, applications of new technology and the day-to-day challenges encountered in the operation and maintenance of a water resources project. The conference committee is currently accepting abstracts. Abstracts should describe the theme and content of the proposed paper and should address one or more of the conference topics. A list of conference topics can be found by visiting the conference website at http://www.asce.org/conferences/om06. In addition, your abstract must be 500 words or less, written in English; include the full paper title; and list the affiliation, mailing address, phone and fax numbers and e-mail address of the author(s) and indicate the primary contact. Abstracts can be submitted electronically via the conference website and are due December 12, 2005.
