EWRI Council Weekend Announced
CityHall
City Hall in Los Angeles, CA

On February 23, 2008, EWRI hosts their annual leadership workshop in Los Angeles, California. The Council Weekend provides a constructive environment for Council and Technical Committee chairs to engage in discussions and planning regarding the structure and activities within the Institute. In general, the purpose of Council Weekend is to talk about changes to the present state of EWRI to its leaders, put forth the revised strategic plan, present the revisions to the Operations Handbook, and to foster cooperation and coordination between all EWRI Councils. It is also intended to relieve pressure on Councils to conduct both Council meetings and to coordinate with committees at the upcoming World Environmental & Water Resources Congress on May 12-16, 2008, in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Council Weekend will be held at the Embassy Suites LAX North Hotel, and a room block has been set aside for reservations as the conference nears. Room reservations must be made by February 2, 2008, in order to receive the discounted rates over the course of the meeting. Prior to that deadline, however, all chairs that plan on attending Council Weekend are expected to complete the online RSVP form at http://www.ewrinstitute.org/cnclrsvp1.cfm.

Additional information can be found at the Council Weekend webpage at http://content.ewrinstitute.org/councilweekend08.html. There, you can not only link to the RSVP form, but also access the original Memorandum announcing Council weekend, view a brief schedule/agenda for the meeting, and look over the Invitee listing to make sure whether or not you are expected to attend.
