Ports and Harbors Chair Passes Gavel at April Meeting

Outgoing Chair Stan White told committee members that he is confident that they will continue to move forward with a wide breadth of products and a successful Ports 2010 conference and he looks forward to continuing to work with them, both as a committee member and future COPRI Governing Board member.

Incoming Chair Mike Adams said he looked forward to a productive year for the committee. Adams brings a wealth of experience to the P&H Committee’s leadership. He currently serves as Director of Engineering at the Port of Tacoma, where he directs an engineering staff that is responsible for planning, design and construction of all major port projects.

Prior to joining the Port of Tacoma, Adams was Operations Director of Godalming, U.K.-based Parsons Brinckerhoff Programme Management Ltd. Adams had previously retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1995 with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Other past engineering positions include Director of Public Works for the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, and Program Manager for North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Allied Forces South in Naples, Italy. Adams holds a M.S. in Engineering Management from Boston University (1977) and a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University (1972).
