Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) provides a full range of services for port, marine and intermodal facilities worldwide. PB’s specialists—comprising port planners, engineers, international and domestic PB Logofreight demand experts, port financial and public-private partnership experts, and transportation economists—are backed by the multidisciplinary resources of a global infrastructure services firm with 13,000 professionals on six continents. Our port projects have spanned a wide array of assignments across the United States, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and Asia. With numerous offices overseas, we have earned a reputation for engineering excellence throughout the world.

As part of the firm’s activities in port and marine facility development around the world, PB has developed national and regional transportation and port plans; prepared master plans for new greenfield ports, container and bulk terminals, and passenger terminals; developed plans and designs for specialized cargo facilities and intermodal terminals; guided the repair, modernization, and expansion of existing facilities; recommended equipment and operating procedures; provided construction phase services; and taken responsibility for the procurement of equipment and materials.

PB's goods movement practice further extends its services to statewide and regional freight planning studies, transactional due diligence analyses, regional and terminal-specific assessments of cargo demand, operations and capital investment requirements, revenue and pricing considerations, and financial assessments.

PB offers services that address the total goods movement system—the core port/marine services and facilities as well as landside transportation modes and connections, logistics and supply-chain services, and automated information systems. Its solutions are based on decades of experience on projects worldwide and a thorough understanding of the issues port authorities, terminal operators, and other supply chain stakeholders face on a daily basis.
