The new Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port and Navigation Engineers (ACOPNE), developed by practicing engineers who are COPRI members, will launch on October 1. The Academy will work to improve the practice, elevate the standards, and advance the profession of the four related enginnering specialties. It has begun to meet these goals with the development and oversight of a voluntary, post-licensure specialty certification program. Qualifying licensced engineers may obtain certification and become an ACOPNE Diplomate in one or more of these four disciplines:
