President Elect

Clarence E. Waters, Ph.D., P.E.

Clarence Waters

Dr. Waters has a Ph.D. in architectural engineering from Pennsylvania State University (1993). His B. S. (1978) and M.S. degrees (1988) are in architectural engineering from Kansas State University. Dr. Waters served on the faculty of Kansas State University in architectural engineering from 1986 to 2000. He was the head of the Department of Architectural Engineering and Construction Science at KSU for four years. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Waters served for over seven years as an electrical project engineer for Professional Engineering Consultants in Wichita, Kansas. He is currently or has been licensed in 21 states and received two International Lighting Design Awards of Merit. Dr. Waters is involved with the Architectural Engineering Institute (AEI) where he served on the Board of Governors and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA) where he has chaired and serves on many technical committees. Dr. Waters' scholarly activities are in lighting and power distribution systems for buildings.

Ray Yunk, P.E., LEED AP

RAY YUNKRay Yunk, P.E., LEED AP, has taught in the Department of Architectural Engineering and Construction Science at Kansas State University since 2002.  His focus areas are building energy analysis and sustainable building design and construction.  Before coming “back home” to teach, he spent over 10 years with the Denver Service Center of the National Park Service, traveling around the central and western United States while working on design and construction projects in our national park areas.  He also spent over 4 years as co-founder and owner/operator of an engineering inspection service in the Denver metro area.  Ray has served as chair of the AEI Academic Council for the past 2-1/2 years and recently accepted a position on the AEI Board of Governors.

 

AEI would like to thank Past President Edd Gibson, Ph.D., P.E., F.ASCE and Al Dorman, P.E., F.AIA, Hon.M.ASCE for their service on the Board of Governors.
