Celebrate Concrete Canoe at World of Concrete

Each year engineering students take concrete to the extreme by designing and building a canoe out of the versatile material, then racing it in a bid for the “America’s Cup of Civil Engineering”.

To celebrate the National Concrete Canoe Competition, ASCE will exhibit at World of Concrete 2009 in the Las Vegas Convention Center, where the 2008 winning canoe will be displayed. Free exhibits-only admission (a $40 value) is available for all ASCE members if they register before Dec. 30, 2008.

Concrete Canoe fans and alumni are invited to a special reception at World of Concrete on Feb. 3, 2009 from 5 to 6 p.m. Swap stories, visit with former teammates and relive the “glory days” or simply learn how these students make the impossible a reality with their amazing water-worthy vessels. Tickets are $10 and registration is required.
