What's Going on at AAWRE?

AAWRE is currently accepting online applications for the winter 2006 review cycle. The current deadline is February 28, 2006.

Presently, the American Academy's Board of Trustees is proud to have conferred the Diplomate, Water Resources Engineer (D.WRE) or Honorary Diplomate, Water Resources Engineer (Hon.D.WRE) credential on 134 individuals.

All water resource engineers that achieve the Diplomate status from fall 2005 thru spring 2006 will be honored at a special reception at the EWRI’s 2006 World Water and Environmental Resources Congress in Omaha, Nebraska, which will be held May 21-26, 2006.

AAWRE is calling on current Diplomates to renew your certification status by March 31, 2006. The renewal fee is $100. All that earned the Diplomate status in spring 2005, you will receive a renewal notice in early February and for those that earned the credential in fall 2005, you will receive your notice later this year. AAWRE Diplomates Receive ASCE Awards

The American Society of Civil Engineers’ honors program has

as its basic objective, the advancement of the engineering profession by noting exceptionally meritorious achievement. AAWRE recognizes the following four Diplomates for their 2005 outstanding honors and achievements.

Darryl W. Davis, P.E., D.WRE, M.ASCE, is accorded the Julian Hinds Award. Albert J. Clemmens, Ph.D., P.E., D.WRE, M.ASCE, wins the Royce J. Tipton Award. Richard G. Allen, Ph.D., P.E., D.WRE, M.ASCE, receives the Arid Lands Hydraulic Engineering Award. Vijay P. Singh, Ph.D., D.Sc., P.E., P.H., D.WRE, F.ASCE, is honored with the Ven Te Chow Award. AAWRE Committee Volunteer Opportunities

AAWRE is presently forming the Admissions Committee to help facilitate the consideration process of admitting applicants for the Certification, Specialty program. Further AAWRE committees are being considered and AAWRE is calling on all Diplomates for interest in participation. Please e-mail AAWRE at certification@aawre.org if you wish to serve on future committees. Additional information will be forthcoming in the near future!
