AAWRE Gives Recognition to Founding Board of Trustee, Dr. Yacov Haimes for Service

After two years of dedicated and valuable service as one of the founding members of AAWRE's Board of Trustees, Dr. Yacov Y. Haimes of the University of Virginia, completed his term as a Trustee on September 24, 2006. As a founding Trustee member, Dr. Haimes made valuable contributions in implementing policies in the AAWRE program and provided guidance to the AAWRE Board of Trustees. To read more...

Ethics Forum Held at ASCE Texas Section Fall Meeting

A special session on "Engineering Ethics Live" was conducted at the ASCE's Texas Section fall meeting on October 13, 2006. The special forum was moderated by AAWRE Board of Trustee member and University of Houston's, Dr. Jerry R. Rogers, and participated by AAWRE Diplomate, ASCE V.P. Zone III, and CTE Inc's, G. Nicholas Textor, Texas Tech University's Dr. Audra Morse, University of Houston's Dr. Theodore Cleveland, Dallas Area Rapid Transit's and ASCE District 15 Director, Allen M. Beene, P.E., Texas Tech University and NIEE's Dr. William Lawson, and Maverick Engineering, Inc.'s Govind B. Nadkarni, P.E., and City of Corpus Christi and V.P. AAWRE Pays Tribute to Honorary Diplomate, Dr. Gilbert F. White

Honorary Diplomate Gilbert F. White, Ph.D., P.E., Hon.D.WRE, who was an Emeritus Professor of Geography at the University of Colorado and founder of the University's Natural Hazards Research and Applications Information Center, passed away on October 5. AAWRE Committee News

AAWRE has formed the Admissions Committee, chaired by AAWRE Board of Trustee, Dr. Bert Clemmens from USDA-Agricultural Research Center and has recently formed the Promotions Committee, chaired by AAWRE Board of Trustee, Dr. Jerry R. Rogers from the University of Houston.

AAWRE is presently forming the Body of Knowledge Committee and the Elections & Nominations Committee to help further the goals of AAWRE and the Diplomate Certification program. AAWRE is calling on all Diplomates for interest in participation. Please e-mail AAWRE at certification@aawre.org if you wish to serve on future committees. AAWRE thanks all Diplomates that are currently participating on our committees.
